So, I went out to get some groceries ... and found some lovely things along the way.
This is a Skola (school) in my neighborhood of Vinohrady - - which is a funny story actually; my A+A teacher explained what Vinohrady translates to. I should have guessed really. So, let's break it down: "vino" - - um, yup ... you guessed it - wine. And "hrad" is castle. Soooooo ... I am living in the old royal vineyards. EXCELLENT ... I love irony, really I do!
Some cool graffiti on the roof of a rec center.
Now this could be a model for a haunted house movie, or maybe a remake of Psycho - - a great old crumbling fabulous house, with a lovely park in front of it.
This church caught my eye because of the tall, um - spire for lack of another word, topped with a chalice. The sign on the side translates to "Hus Choir" ... as in Jan Hus, which I found out used to use the chalice as a symbol - neat, I love when things tie in together!
This cool tower shows the city's seal-like image under the clockface ... Charles IV in the middle of two towers, and over a gated portal. I've seen this "seal" all around town.
And that is it my friends ... a super quiet day, with a little exploration on the way to get some food. As usual, I found neat things during my travels.
I hope you enjoyed!
