Then I left my flat at 6pm and walked to the Prague TV Tower ... with the babies. I walked through the large hilltop park of Riegrovy Sady. What a lovely stroll ... it was hot, but inside the park it was quiet (until I got to the top ... keep reading) and the birds were singing. Sigh. Wonderful.
However, when I got to the top it was a completely different story! There were people everywhere! Sunbathing, drinking beer (there is no open-container law here!), playing frisbee, laughing, talking, kissing - and probably people watching like me. I'm pretty sure I saw a woman sunbathing topless. Prague is one of those cities (like London) who have a newspaper that has a color picture of a naked woman in the center of it ... saw one on the metro today. Interestingly enough, the next page was a color pic of a quite attractive man with his shirt open ... but NOT naked dammit!
That is Nardoni Museum, in Wenceslas Sq, in between the trees - from the top of the park.
One of Praha's famous beer garden ... there was TONS of people there! It was crazy!!!
From there I continued to the tower ... enjoying my stroll through the park, people watching along the way. Quite lovely ... this was a new part of town for me too.
There it is! The TV tower with babies and pods ... not another like it around!!!
A close-up of the pods and babies ...
Then ... I went up the tower to the observation pods ... the 2nd set up (the 1st is the restaurant, and the 3rd is the TV station). What views!!! I met a lovely US couple up there (shout out to Becka and Ken from Ohio), who had come here via train from Poland where they were for a wedding. It was nice to chat with some fellow Americans, we chatted for about 15 minutes.
This is one of many shots from the observation pods, see my Picasa album for more (http://picasaweb.google.com/judkins71). This pod was facing the sun, so the shot has too much light - - but can you see St Ludmila's on the upper left and the Nardoni Museum in Wensceslas Sq in the middle.
Well, here you can see why they call Prague "The City of 100 Spires" ... I know the shot has too much light, but you can still make out the many dark spires ... cool!
Weeeelllll ... I have to get pics of me in Europe SOMEHOW don't I?!?!
That was it for the tower ... but at the bottom, I found a great old cemetery - which turned out to be part of the Prague Jewish Museum.

From there I hopped on the tram (above ground) and went to the old Tesco Department Store (now called "My") ... and bought a fan, a journal, a notebook for school, and some groceries.
Came home ... ate salad with bread and cheese and water (Camembert with peppercorns - yummy!) ... ended with some milk chocolate with hazelnuts. Super fab!!
And THAT ladies and gents, was my glorious summer eve in Praha.
